Most limousine websites will not answer this question. They ask you to call for a quote, which is fine once you are ready to book and useless when you are still working out whether this is affordable at all. So here is the straight version: across Ontario you will generally see $75 to $150 an hour for a sedan, $100 to $250 for a stretch limousine and $150 to $350 or more for a party bus, with minimum booking times on the larger vehicles. Airport transfers are usually priced as a flat rate instead. What follows is how that actually works, what gets added on top, and how to spend less — including a few things that cost us money to tell you.
First: There Are Two Completely Different Pricing Models
Almost every misunderstanding about limo pricing comes from not knowing this. Companies charge in two ways, and which one applies depends on the shape of your trip, not on the vehicle.

So “how much is a limo” has two answers. For an airport run it is a single number quoted before you travel. For a wedding or a night out it is an hourly rate multiplied by the hours you book. Ask which model applies before comparing two companies’ prices — otherwise you are comparing different things.
What You’ll Typically See Across Ontario
These are broad market ranges, not our price list, and they are a planning tool rather than a quote. Rates vary with vehicle age and quality, season, day of the week and how far the vehicle has to travel to reach you.

Two things to notice. First, the price is per vehicle, not per person — which changes everything for a group, as we will show below. Second, the bigger vehicles come with minimum hours, and that catches people out.
The Minimum-Hours Trap
If a stretch limousine has a four-hour minimum and you only need it for two hours, you pay for four. This is not a trick — a company cannot fill the other two hours of a Saturday evening with a different booking, so the minimum protects the slot. But it means a short booking on a large vehicle is poor value, and people are frequently surprised by it.
Two ways to handle it. Either use the hours you are paying for anyway — add photo stops, a dinner leg, a later pickup — or choose a smaller vehicle that has no minimum. A two-hour prom run is often better served by a sedan or SUV than by a stretch you are paying four hours for. Ask about the minimum before you fall in love with a vehicle.

What Gets Added On Top
The hourly rate is not the total. A reputable company will tell you all of this up front; if a quote seems unusually low, one of these is probably missing from it.
- HST — 13% in Ontario, applied to the fare. Not optional, and it should be shown separately on your quote.
- Gratuity — typically 15–20% of the pre-tax fare. Some companies include it automatically, some leave it to you. Ask which, because it is a meaningful difference on a long booking.
- Airport fees — Pearson charges commercial vehicles for pickups, and that cost is passed on. It is a legitimate charge, not a padding exercise.
- Tolls — if your route uses a toll highway, that appears on the bill. Ask whether the quoted route includes one.
- Waiting or overtime — if your evening runs past the booked hours, the extra time is charged, usually at the hourly rate or a portion of it.
- Cleaning fees — only if something happens that requires the vehicle taken out of service. Ask what the number is; a company that will not tell you is one to avoid.
The question to ask any company, in these words: “What is the total, including HST and gratuity, for exactly this trip?” A straight answer to that question tells you a great deal about who you are dealing with.
The Maths That Actually Matters: Per Person
Here is why the sticker price misleads people. Limousine hire is priced per vehicle, but it is experienced per person — and once a group splits the cost, the number usually stops sounding extravagant and starts sounding reasonable.

Run the sum for your own group before deciding it is out of reach. A party bus at the top of the market range, split across twenty people for a five-hour booking, frequently works out to less per head than the dinner that evening — and nobody is driving.
How to Spend Less (Genuinely)
Some of this costs us money to publish. It is still true, and you would rather hear it from us than discover it afterwards.
- Book the right size, not the biggest. An SUV that fits your group comfortably beats a stretch you have hired for the photographs and then paid four hours for. Tell the company your headcount and let them recommend.
- Avoid the peak dates if you can. Prom Saturdays, New Year’s Eve and wedding-season weekends carry the highest minimums. A Friday or a Sunday is often materially cheaper for the same event.
- Consider a flat rate instead of hourly. If you are going to a venue and coming back six hours later, two flat-rate legs usually cost less than six hours of waiting time. Ask for both quotes and compare.
- Book early. Not because of a discount, but because late bookings choose from what is left — and what is left is rarely the best-value vehicle.
- Consolidate the pickups. Six addresses across three towns adds time you are paying for. One or two meeting points saves an hour of billed driving.

How much is a limo per hour in Ontario?

Why do limo companies have minimum hours?
Because a company cannot resell the remainder of a Saturday evening slot. A four-hour minimum on a stretch means a two-hour booking still costs four hours, so for short trips a smaller vehicle without a minimum is usually better value.
Is a limo cheaper than several taxis or rideshares?
For a group, frequently yes — particularly at peak times when rideshare surge pricing applies, and particularly if the alternative is several vehicles arriving separately. A limousine rate is fixed at booking and does not rise on New Year’s Eve.
Do you charge more in winter or on holidays?
We do not. Our quoted rate is the rate, regardless of holiday weekends, event nights or snow days. Not every operator works this way, so it is worth asking.
Is an airport limo cheaper than parking at Pearson?

Early — but for availability rather than discount. Prom, wedding and holiday dates sell out months ahead, and the vehicles remaining closest to the date are rarely the best value.
